Service Literacy Training For Work Permit Holders
Learning Objectives
» To equip Work Permit Holders in the Retail, Hotel and Food & Beverage sectors with English communication skills essential for delivering good and effective service and to prepare them for the Service Literacy Test (SLT) administered by Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).
» From 1 July 2010, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) mandates that Work Permit Holders in these sectors will have to pass the Service Literacy Test in order to qualify for skilled levy status, in addition to the current skilled status requirements.
Programme Outline
» Use of appropriate language for routine social scenarios
» Give or receive instructions and making polite requests
» Use appropriate vocabulary to express basic personal needs, feelings
» Respond to simple questions about personal information
» Understand information about work-related topics
» Use effective telephone techniques to handle telephone calls
» Understand traffic information, transportation schedules & fares and use maps
» Demonstrate understanding of the months of the year and the days of the week
» Understand general work-related vocabulary, work-place policies and job manuals
» Understand work-related signs, charts, diagrams, symbols, forms and procedures
» Follow, explain and respond appropriately to instructions
» Understand job-related workplace announcements and notices
» Communicate work-related information to others
» Report incidents and urgent situations

If notice of withdrawal is given to Eduquest International Pte. Ltd. in writing :
- 2 weeks or more before commencement → Full refund
- Less than 2 weeks before commencement → 75% refund
- After commencement / No show → No refund |
