Overview

The WSQ Food Handlers Programme is a 8 days course that prepares candidates for jobs in the kitchen/food stall operations. During this course participants will learn about the basic culinary skills, interact with guests, maintain displays and follow a safe and hygienic working practice in a food preparation environment. They will be train in various hands-on activities in simulated kitchen setup.

Certification

Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements will be awarded with the following WSQ Statement(s) of Attainment (SOA) awarded by SSG:

    Follow Food and Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures

    Prepare Mise En Place 1

    Maintain Displays

    Interact with Guests

Entry Requirement

    Be able to speak, read and write English or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy level 4

    18 years old and above (Singaporean male candidates must have completed or are exempted from National Service)

    SSG course fee funding is only applicable to Eligible Singaporeans and Local PRs.

    Participants who fall under the Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme stand to receive up to 95% subsidy.

    Sponsoring companies need to submit training grant applications in Skillsconnect before or within 30 days after the course commencement date.
