The hotel and restaurant industries form a signiﬁcant part of the tourism economic landscape economy for the tourism landscape in Singapore. Employees in both these sectors are exposed to a variety of safety and health hazards at work depending on the speciﬁc tasks they perform. Risks include musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, health hazards such as chemicals, noise and thermal stress. There is also the risk of accidents from slips, trips, knocks and falls, cuts, burns and scalds, electrocution as well as ﬁre and explosion. Occupational accidents and illnesses can result in suﬀering, sickness, absenteeism, productivity loss, disability or even death. This course will equip participants with the knowledge and skills in maintaining a safe and secure working environment in the workplace by practising safe work procedures, using equipment and hazardous material safely and working towards preventing injury and accidents.
On completion of this unit, a learner shall be able to maintain safe work environment, use proper lifting, pushing and pulling techniques, use equipment safely and follow directions for handling hazardous materials.

Sponsoring company must submit funding application for SSG Course Fee Support/ Absentee Payroll via the SkillsConnect system from 30 days before the course start date and up to 30 days after the course start date.
Eduquest is not liable if applicant fails to meet at least 75% attendance, does not complete the assessment /project (where applicable), or for any other reason where Course Fee Support/ Absentee Payroll funding is not submitted or approved. In this case, we will unfortunately have to, under SSG's regulation, charge your organisation the full fee for each participant.
